A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS WE SHARE......."LITTLE CHRISTMAS"

"AUNTIE ALICE" July 31, 1928 - April 21, 2005

Meet the most accomplished woman I have known...."Auntie Alice".  Her catch phrases offered a sense of freedom jubilance released during a daily dose of comedic conversations expressing having to write letters, adding cards during Christmas rush greetings....when I asked, she replied, "IT'S ALL ABOUT THE QUOTATIONS", you have to let people know your still alive. That was hilarious....I nearly cried.  Auntie Alice, I miss you....I think of you whenever in gesture reaction, stand up and right away words pour out....I had all those years to practice.  You left me a great deal of footlights, crafty one liners, I embrace to hear you when silence comes.

I wish to the Stars Heaven knowing your among Beauty....your Fragrance softly drifts in memory, deserving a gift from Conversations....Hello's....Goodbye's....I was your pet. I was with you everyday and tried to be....I could never get enough to be with you.  Your kindness giving attention unconditionally was not taken for granted....I love you more for being devoted to my care and for me. I would have given you the world if it came to be. Auntie Alice was not only My Aunt but, MY GODMOTHER, Sister-in-Law to my Mother.  Uncle Tony, my Mother's Brother married to Alice.  Though human nature has it's great moments in marriage....it also had difficulties.  These wonderful people had one thing together....understanding to compromise.

Their is four Seasons to the Calendar Year....well, 850 High Street where Alice and Tony lived....raised two sons, Sam and Vic.  Their home known in our neighborly community as popularity grew over years through song music parties during the 1960's.  What a Place!  They had a wonderful Party Hall in the basement, know as the Rec Room area today....surface linoleum green square tile flooring polished for every occasion....a two piece Bathroom in green/white plumbing features....large Fireplace with Double Chest Trunks on either side to store Firewood....circular Bar even a Bandstand for speakers, performers stage.  It was a party heaven....rock 'n' roll to country music....even a Wurlitzer Jukebox.  Auntie Alice guarded me uniquely special encouraged openness freedom elevating confidence guided by her assurance.

She gave me independence in her home allowing me to grow without inhibition (constraints) blocking my creative values.  Her heart was a big as she allowed it to be and gave to give.  I love her for her spirit of special gifts....being my Aunt and a friend who I admired so. She would spend half of the day cleaning her home laundry preparing for dinner, it was time for her coffee break.  Aunt Alice's 2:30PM car trips during a warm summer afternoon out to meet friends.  After a well deserve prep of makeup accented perfume red lipstick headed out like a celebrity beauty.  Into her car, top down convertible all in white and red interior befitting this eye catching dazzler.  I sat proudly, a 9 year old boy seated next to a movie star....winning my heart carefully watching her gesture.  Her kerchief dancing softly....catching the wind passing another car. Background music played from the radio as she attentively looked to her rear-view mirror fixing a hair out of place to a wave from a passing car horn.  She always asked me, if, I wanted a chew....she would dig into her purse to retrieve some and we both began to chew gum....Aunt Alice was a chewing gum expert, snapping gum while talking. I can say this....I could never beat that....

Auntie Alice was an all occasion person....Gardening, Flowers, Cooking, Baking, Bowling, Lover of Nature and it's many Amazements , Dances, Parties, Snowmobiling, Social Events, no matter what event, she would be attending.  Her life surrounded by family was most important to her.  She brought Joy to every person who knew her....she attracted anyone because of her irresistible energy....  She loved herself and achieved many praises for personal strength....helped those less fortunate....embraced sorrow with compassion, often the desire to alleviate it through conversation of care.  She gave hope when hope was lost.  She shared her life openly giving her heart to anyone who listened.  She was the Greatest Hostess....her speciality in cooking are many and I will share that through cooking dialogue.

Aunt Alice had no particular wave to music....she loved everything about it.  I can say having an Italian background she held....one song comes to mind.  The song is a classic and she would really get anyone up dancing at family events anywhere. MARINA, MARINA, MARINA....An Italian feel good song.  I was really lucky to have located it.  I listen too it and guess who visits me in memory....Yes, Aunt Alice.  It is listed here....Please take opportunity to listen.....#6

"THE EPIPHANY and LITTLE CHRISTMAS"

"GLORIA"  MY MOTHER at AGE 17 in 1944....

A Christmas greeting from a Mother to her Son in her last Christmas Card December 14, 2011. In
                                                             it....she placed a 100.00's.

Openly, barely enough energy to write....raised her writing hand for the last time and wrote, "I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER-MOM.....words fragilely written by her last living strength. Mom called me everyday for years to say....."MOMMY LOVES YOU"....."HOW ARE YOU"...."MOMMY MISSES YOU".....was overwhelming to pass, to soften feeling understanding her delicate vulnerable heart only to embrace her child befitting a LOVING CARING MOTHER.  When ever I pick up this card discover MOTHER'S BEAUTY showing a distant trace of PERFUME......arms embracing to follow each time I read her last words. To you MOM, please wait for me....my HAND is OPEN till the END OF TIME....Lets walk together....My Mother, My Mother, My Mom....YOU are the GREATEST LOVE of my LIFE.....YOU WILL ALWAYS BE......

Mother's Beauty held in song.....a child once, she sang attentively warm to her children with the greatest love affection everlasting.   "Ave Maria"  by Gloria Lorenzo, a perfect rendition.....please take opportunity to listen to music listed #13.
